Organic
In many of the pieces, the Fossil Ivory is Scrimshawed. I use a very sharp scribe to etch pictures or patterns into the highly polished ivory and use black or colored inks to fill in the etched designs.
I also use a variety of semi-precious stones. All of the Fossil Ivory and stones are inlayed by my brother, David Wallace. Inlay involves using an 18 inch diamond saw followed by various diamond wheels and drills to meticulously fit each stone into its bezel.
